Watch: 2019 Wilson Dialogue

The Wilson Dialogue is an annual, signature event, where contemporary public policy issues of national significance are discussed by some of the most influential experts in government and academia.

Hosted by the Sir Roland Wilson Foundation, this year we were honoured to have Minister for Indigenous Australians, Ken Wyatt deliver the Dialogue on the topic of leadership, education and policy design, in particular with respect of Indigenous Australians.

With the recent launch of the Sir Roland Wilson Foundation’s flagship Pat Turner Scholarship Program for Indigenous Australian Public Service employees, the Dialogue was a unique opportunity to hear from the first Aboriginal Minister for Indigenous Australians.

Mr Wyatt spoke about the need to remove educational barriers for Indigenous Australians, saying it “must be a priority not just for government but anyone in leadership”.

Mr Wyatt also spoke about the need for a genuine, grassroots effort to redesign the policymaking process to better “capture and reflect the realities of living as an Indigenous Australian”.

The Sir Roland Wilson Foundation is grateful to Mr Wyatt for his thought provoking words and to the National Film and Sound Archive for their gracious hospitality.
