Christiane Gerblinger, one of our 2017 PhD scholars, recently returned from presenting to Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Christiane was selected to present a paper to the annual meeting of the Science and Democracy Network. She was part of the first contingent of Australian academics to join the annual meeting.
Christiane’s paper, ‘The Language of the Rebuffed: A Critical Appraisal of how Policy Officials Communicate Expertise’ was based on her Sir Roland Wilson Scholarship PhD research.
It examined the language of policy advisers to find out how they establish themselves as experts and whether they are influential.
