Area of expertise:
Amanda joined the Attorney-General’s Department as a graduate in 1994 and has since worked across the department, with a particular focus on international family law. This work has primarily related to Australia’s obligations under the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction and the 1996 Hague Convention on Jurisdiction, Applicable Law, Recognition, Enforcement and Co-operation in respect of Parental Responsibility and Measures for the Protection of Children.
Amanda is undertaking a Master of International Relations by coursework, with a specialisation in diplomacy, at the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific.
On her return to the public service, Amanda hopes to deploy the theoretical knowledge and expertise she develops through the program, in combination with her decades long practical experience, to achieve outstanding results for Australia on the international stage.
