Carlyn brings over 30 years of experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs, driving cultural, social, and economic opportunities at local, state, and national levels.

Since joining the Australian Public Service in 2000, she has taken on influential leadership roles, and she now serves as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies and is a Visiting Fellow to the ANU Research School of Management.

Her MBA from the Australian National University deepened her expertise in strategic leadership, governance, and economic development—enhancing her ability to foster impactful partnerships between Indigenous communities, businesses, and government.

Passionate about creating lasting change, Carlyn, as a Kamilaroi woman, remains committed to strengthening pathways for Indigenous advancement and ensuring meaningful collaboration across sectors.
