Former Sir Roland Wilson Foundation Chair, Dr Ken Henry AC, has been recognised by The Australian National University for his outstanding contribution to public service with an Honorary Doctorate of Laws.

Dr Henry served on the Board of the Sir Roland Wilson Foundation for more than 20 years, including the past 10 as Chair.

Professor Brian Schmidt AC FAA FRS, Vice-Chancellor of The Australian National University (ANU), announced the honorary doctorate at the Foundation’s annual Secretaries Dinner on 18 November.

“I cannot think of anyone more fitting to receive this honour than you, recognising your exceptional contribution to the advancement of Australian public policy as a long-time public service leader and inaugural chair of the Sir Roland Wilson Foundation,” Professor Schmidt said.

“Through your work for the Foundation and strong attachments to the ANU across many research initiatives, spanning many years, you have played a pivotal role in strengthening the links between the university and the Australian Public Service, for the mutual benefit of both institutions.”

Dr Henry will be presented with his degree at a graduation ceremony in early 2022.
