Welcoming new board member Professor Ruth Wallace.

After a long involvement with the Foundation, Ruth’s board membership cements the Foundation’s connection with Charles Darwin University (CDU).

Ruth supervises a number of Sir Roland Wilson Foundation Pat Turner scholars studying at CDU.

She has shared her academic experience with our scholars at a number of events, including our 2019 Scholar Retreat and Annual Secretaries Dinner. Prior to joining the board, Ruth contributed to the development of the Foundation’s Strategic Plan 2020‑2025.

Ruth is the Dean, College of Indigenous Futures, Arts and Society. Her research centres on making social policy adaptive to the strengths and knowledge systems of marginalised people, with a focus on learning and workforce development pathways in regional and remote areas. Ruth is also the Director of CDU’s Northern Institute and has researched in Australia, Indonesia and the United States.

The Sir Roland Wilson Foundation this year officially partnered with CDU, extending its scholarship offering to public servants located outside Canberra.
